Dunlap Grants & Scholarships
Dunlap's financial grants support Christian nonprofits caring for orphaned, fatherless, and needy children, meeting their physical, educational, emotional, and spiritual needs. Grants may be ongoing or renewed annually for up to five years. We also fund a scholarship at Erskine College for students who've lost a parent and have financial need.
About Dunlap Grants & Scholarships
“For I know the plans I have for you”, declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11 NIV
Financial assistance may be given as grants to non-profit organizations that provide comprehensive physical, educational, emotional, and spiritual care in a Christian environment for orphaned, fatherless, helpless, or needy children. A limited amount of grants are on-going, and others may be considered annually for up to five years with the opportunity to re-apply after a year off.
There is also a scholarship fund for Erskine College students who have lost one or both parents and have financial need. The Dunlap Board distributes an annual grant to the college, and Erskine identifies qualified students for the scholarships.
Ongoing Grants
Dunlap Trustees have established ongoing relationships with Mabel Lowry Home, Collins Home for Children, French Camp Academy, and Palmer Home for Children. These organizations will provide resources and opportunities for ministry.
Who we give to

Mabel Lowry Pressly Home for Girls (MLPH)
Dunlap has partnered with the Mabel Lowry Pressly Home for Girls (officially known as the Mabel Lowry Pressly Hostel) for some years now. Located in Sahiwal, Pakistan, MLPH is part of the foreign missions work of the U.S. Synod of the ARP Church. This work was begun in Pakistan over one hundred years ago. The Dunlap Grant makes a much-needed donation toward the annual expenses of the Girls Home.
The mission of MLPH is to train and disciple Pakistani girls, pointing them to Christ, by providing them with comprehensive spiritual, educational, physical, emotional, and social care in a Christian environment. The girls come from Christian families, the vast majority of whom are large and live in extreme poverty. Some of the girls have disabled parents; some have lost one or both parents. Most of the girls are sent to MLPH because their families cannot afford to take care of them. Without the opportunity to attend MLPH, their education and Christian training would be virtually impossible. The girls are trained in Biblical and Reformed theology, and many grow up to become leaders in the women’s lay ministry of the Pakistan Synod of the ARP Church.

Collins Home for Children
Collins Children’s Home was founded over 37 years ago by Joe and Anne Rackley in Seneca, SC. It is a not-for-profit ministry that provides residential homes for children who have been abused, abandoned, neglected, orphaned or are other-wise unable to live with their families. They have 2 Cottages, a Boys Home and a Girls Home, for children ages birth to 21. The children typically stay 1 to 3 years, but can stay as long as they need. Within a community of Christian values, Collins Children’s Home cares for children and supports families in an atmosphere that instills feelings of acceptance, safety, permanence, dignity, and joy while teaching important life skills and a work ethic that will enable them to be productive members of society.

French Camp Academy
French Camp Academy, a Christ-centered home and school, exists to serve youth and families for the glory of God by providing a nurturing, structured home environment where young people can heal from the bumps and bruises of life. A Christian education to develop a mind for truth and plenty of opportunities are provided to develop a work ethic utilizing its multi-faceted 900 acre campus and various support ministries. Young people are given a fresh start and offered a new trajectory for life built on a biblical foundation as they engage relationally with Christian adults on campus.

Wonderful caregivers care for wounded and broken children by sharing the healing power of Jesus and providing physical, emotional, educational, and spiritual care. Palmer Home hopes to be the hands and feet of God’s compassion, doing justice for those whom God loves and who cannot help themselves.

Previous Grant Recipients
Calvary Home
Calvary Home provides help, hope, and home to abused and neglected children. Their vision is to build an exceptional community of nurturing homes for displaced children in the Upstate of South Carolina through their main campus and by licensing individual foster homes in Anderson County. They strive for every child to be nurtured in a welcoming, reliable, and Christ-centered home and be united with their family as a more physically, emotionally, and academically stable individual.

Reach the Children of Rwanda International
Reach the Children of Rwanda International (RCRI) is a Christian 501(c)3 non-profit humanitarian organization recognized by both the United States and Rwanda. With offices in Due West, South Carolina and Kigali, Rwanda, RCRI currently serves over 400 children between the ages of 4 and 21, along with their families. RCRI works in the three districts of Kigali City and in the Nyabihu District of the Western Province of Rwanda. RCRI believes that a solid education and a Christ-centered spiritual foundation are the keys to breaking the cycle of poverty and training children to be self-sufficient contributors to Rwandan society. This is accomplished by providing the means for education as well as addressing the spiritual, emotional, and physical needs of each child and their family outside of the classroom. RCRI employs a holistic model”“assessing and ministering to the needs of the whole of a child”™s life and not just one aspect.
RCRI has begun construction and opened a school in Nyabihu District, in which upon completion all RCRI-supported children will live and study.

Hope for the Fatherless
Hope for the Fatherless is an organization that focuses on giving intensive love, care and high standard education and training opportunities to orphaned children, between the ages six to ten, and so desire to impart living hope in Christ. Additionally, they believe and hope to see the culture in Ethiopia transformed to care for the fatherless, the weak, and the vulnerable. This vision was primarily conceived after observing the living conditions of needy children who live in destitution or orphanages, and recognizing their learning abilities. It is believed that if today”™s children are well educated, trained and mentored in every aspect of their life, they will become a generation of tomorrow”™s great citizens.
